Little School offers an 8:30am - 3:30pm programme.  Churton Park and Kelburn have exended hours until 5:30pm and Churton Park offers an 8:00am start. We operate within the same dates as a public school term, meaning we have four terms a year.

We will, however, operate for one week of the school holidays so our terms will be one week longer than schools'. This allows opportunities for families with older children to do various holiday activities that are sometimes difficult to do with pre-schoolers.

PROGRAMME

The Little School programme incorporates the philosphies of many theorists and educationalists from all over the world.  The best from each of these ideas and theories, along with the New Zealand early childhood and primary based curriculums, are what creates our unique programme.

Brain Gym - Brain Gym is a programme of physical movements that enhance learning and performance in all areas.  It is a programme dedicated to enhance living and learning.

Sensory Motor Development and Intergration - Sensory Integration is a process that occurs in the brain.  It allows us as individuals to take information though our senses, organise it and act and respond according to any situation.  It is also the process which allows us to filter out any unnecessary sensory information.  Sensory Integration forms the underlying foundation for academic learning and social behaviour.

Music - Music is a vital part of our programme at Little School.

Virtues - The virtues programme empowers children to live by their highest values.

Term Dates for 2013

Little School is closed the following days:
Local Anniversary - 21 January, Waitangi Day - 6th February, Good Friday - 29th March, Easter Monday - 1 April, Anzac Day - 25th April, Queens Birthday - Monday 4th June, Labour Day - 22nd October.
